Consecutive Interpretation
The Consecutive Interpretation is a method for the oral translation of speeches, in a consecutive or sequential manner. That is, the speaker presents a part of the speech in one language and then stops. During this pause, the consecutive interpreter translates the speech into the target language, after which he or she continues to listen for the next part of the speech.
This method practically doubles the needed presentation time and requires the use of a sound system except for very small rooms and private meetings.
The advantage of the method is that for small locations it does not require a sound system, while for larger halls you only need sound equipment without the costs of the simultaneous translation equipment.
For events under two hours, depending on the topic, it is possible to use only one consecutive interpreter per target language.
Any event that surpasses the two hour limit will require the use of two consecutive interpreters that will switch from time to time, assuring continuity of service.
Taking into account the type of service, the organizer must provide adequate quantities of sparkling and spring water.
ATTENTION:
The reservation of consecutive interpreters does not automatically reserve the needed sound system. The sound system may be rented with or without the team of interpreters.
