A translated page is the equivalent of 1800 characters, including spaces. The word/character counting is done automatically through MS Word and is rounded up to the next page.

You need to notarize your documents if they replace originals. For example, a translated contract could have the same value as the original if it includes articles in this sense.

We translate each and every word on a page. Each physical page may contain a certain number of words (characters implicitly) and we translate the entire text keeping the sense of the phrase as accurate as possible, trying to maintain the original aspect of the document. After the translation is completed, we count and invoice the resulting words and characters.

There are several manners in which a translated page can be counted. We use the 1800 characters with spaces standard, which is also equivalent to 1500 characters without spaces. We can also use the price per word system, reducing counting ambiguities and the interpretation of page standards.

Due to our confidentiality policy and space constraints on our servers, all the translated documents are deleted after 60 days.

Normally, a translator can process 8 pages per workday, maintaining a high level of accuracy. That means that s/he translates and verifies the accuracy of the text both technically and linguistically.

In case of urgent translations, the client may chose the use of several translators in parallel, dedicated reviewers (technical and linguistic) and a project coordinator or prefers to reduce the review steps.

Our company has an operational quality management system, certified by a third party, In our case, the third party is TUV Austria. With this system we make sure that each translation and interpretation event follows the quality level assumed by Babylon Consult when we accepted to provide services.

For an additional tax, we can edit the translated texts into the original PDF documents if the originals are formatted as editable texts and are not password protected.

It would be cheaper if we receive the documents used as origin for printing the PDF files.

For a fee, one of our certified (authorized) translators, registered with the Notary Public Office can evaluate your translation and after reviewing the text, may apply her/his stamp and signature on the printed document. This document may later be notarized at the Notary Public's Office where the certified (authorized) translator is registered.

In Romania, in order to notarize a translated document the translation needs to be done by a translator certified (authorized) by the Romanian Ministry of Justice. The translated document must have a closing statement attached, attesting to the fact that s/he translated the document after seeing the original or a copy of the document, along with her/his signature and authorization stamp.

You just have to receive the translated documents from us (in person or by currier), printed in accordance to the legal requirements, attach a copy of the original documents and it is mandatory that you go to the Notary Public Office indicated by our office. It is mandatory since the Notary Public will legalize only the signature of the translator, thus the Notary Public Office must have an authentic copy of the translator's authorization, signature and seal.

A certified (authorized) translation is a translation performed by a certified (authorized) translator. It is delivered in printed form, being signed and sealed by the respective certified (authorized) translator.

In Romania, a translator can be certified (authorized) by the Romanian Ministry of Justice following the candidate's graduation with at least a Bachelor's Degree in foreign languages or after a written examination at the Ministry of Culture. Only these translators may stamp and sign a translation thus becoming a "certified (authorized) translation". Later on this translation with added elements, may be notarized at a Notary Public Office that has the translator's authentic authorization, seal and signature on file.

The notarized translation is a certified translation, amended with the translator's sworn statement, signature and authorization stamp (containing the authorization number). Besides her/his sworn statement, we also have to print a form used by the Notary Public, thus notarizing the translator's signature.

In our experience, we've noticed that many participants overestimate their understanding of a foreign language and are reluctant to ask questions during and after the presentations.

In our opinion, it is much easier to provide interpretation services during the press conference than to later correct misinterpreted and erroneous information that is already public.

For interpreters, an interpretation day is 6 hours long in active and standby interpretation mode, and a maximum of 8 eight hours present and ready for interpretation, including coffee and meal breaks.

The interpreters are very well trained and competent. Still, they do not have your advantage of repeating the speech several times before the event. In order for the interpreters to rehearse and enrich their knowledge in the conference's field of expertise, the speakers and organizers should supply reference materials and the displayed presentations at least 48 hours before the event.

Based on these presentations, the interpreters prepare glossaries and research certain areas in order to improve the transfer of knowledge from the speakers to the audience.

The interpreters' travel time to and from the event is paid at half the normal interpretation rate and does not cover travel expenses.

The interpreters are paid starting with the moment they are present at the location, as requested by the client, until they are released and able to leave the premises. Often times, even if the interpreters are in a coffee or meal break, they have a protocol to accompany and assist the foreign guests in their communication with the attendees.

During a conference or meeting with simultaneous or consecutive interpretation, the interpreter has to orally translate each word that s/he hears from the speakers. That means that s/he has to speak the same amount of time or longer than the speakers put together. Imagine yourselves in the situation that you have to continuously speak for an hour, two hours? What about eight hours? How would you be able to speak?
